During the past 12 Years our students have won multiple World Championship titles in both contemporary and country competitions. Below you will find brief explanations as to the basic formats for many of the national events we take our students to throughout the year.

Professional / Amateur Competing As A Couple

Regardless of your level you can compete on a level playing field in competitions. There are a number of organizations offering ProAm events for both contemporary (West Coast, Hustle, Salsa, Nightclub and Cha Cha) and country (Triple Two Step, Nightclub, Polka, Cha Cha, Waltz, Two Step, East Coast and West Coast) formats.

There are six skill levels: Pre-Newcomer, Newcomer, Novice, Intermediate, Advanced and ProPro.
In addition there are also Age levels. Platinum (over 70), Gold (over 60), Silver (over 50), Diamond (over 40), Crystal (over 30) and Open (all ages). There are also children divisions. Primary (Under 10), Youth (under 15), and Teen (under 18)

Precision Dance Team
The California Top Cats * 2008 UCWDC World Champions

We are now preparing for the new season with plans to go to Nashville , Tenn. to try to bring the title home for the second year in a row. Our team is very excited about the new year and are looking for new members to share in the experience. Practices are on Sunday afternoons and occasionally on Tuesday nights. Drop in and meet the group.

Couples Divisional Competition

All of the same divisions apply the the Country Competitions. If you are a serious competitor you will be in good hands with up to date classic or showcase choreography. Routines with the sophistication and energy levels to take you out in front of the pack. Each of the eight dances in the country format has a very defined technique which must be delivered precisely to come out on top. Being World Champions and nationally certified judges for the United Country Western Dance Council Tom & Sossy Hyatt will guide you through the process to learn these techniques the correct way right from the beginning.

Jack & Jill's (Where you do not know who you will dance with) and Just Dance (Where you choose your partner)

On the lighter side of competing comes the Jack & Jill's and Just Dance. Learn the partnering techniques needed to communicate effectively with your partner when dancing lead & follow. The very essence of the quality needed to win in a lead and follow situation such as these. Our students have placed first in many of the past Jack & Jill's and Just Dance competitions during the past few years.
